Akamai Pricing 2026 Verified: Quote-Only, Committed Contracts the Norm

Akamai does not publish a per-GB rate sheet on its website. All commercial terms are negotiated with sales, typically as a 12 or 36 month committed contract with overage bands.

Direct answer
What does Akamai actually cost in 2026?
Akamai does not publish a per-GB rate card. All pricing is quote-driven through sales. The single most honest thing we can say is what their own page implies: contact the vendor and bring at least two competitor quotes (Cloudflare and Bunny work as the floor) before signing anything.

Why no rate table

Akamai does not publish a per-GB rate sheet. We do not infer rates for quote-only vendors. The vendor link below is the official URL we checked.

What to do instead
Ask sales for a rate card delivered by email (not just a meeting). Send Cloudflare, Bunny, KeyCDN and Fastly published rates with your RFP so the rep cannot anchor low and then escalate. See our CDN RFP template for the exact questions to ask.

Does Akamai publish any pricing?

Almost none, but the exception matters. Akamai runs two very different businesses under one brand, and they price in opposite ways.

The enterprise CDN: quote-only

Akamai's content-delivery line (Ion, Adaptive Media Delivery, and the App and API Protector security bundle) has no published per-GB rate. Every commercial term is negotiated with sales, typically a 12 or 36 month committed contract with overage bands. This is what people usually mean by "Akamai CDN pricing," and there is no official rack rate to look up.

Akamai Cloud (formerly Linode): published network transfer rates

The one Akamai product that does list a price per GB is Akamai Cloud, the cloud-compute platform Akamai built on its 2022 Linode acquisition. Its network transfer pricing is public on the Akamai Cloud pricing pages:

Do not confuse the two products
These Akamai Cloud figures are compute egress, not the enterprise CDN rate card. A CDN sales quote will not use them, and quoting $0.005/GB back to a CDN rep will not anchor your negotiation. Use them only if you are actually sizing Akamai Cloud (Linode) compute and its outbound transfer.

Worked example

Acme Streaming Co. (illustrative example, not a real company) serves 30 TB/month with the mix 60% North America, 30% Europe, 10% Asia Pacific.

Acme Streaming Co. cost: not computable
Because Akamai does not publish a rate card, we cannot give Acme an honest estimate without inventing numbers. We will not do that. The realistic next step for Acme is to send a 30 TB / NA-EU-AP mix RFP to sales with three competitor quotes attached as the negotiation floor.

Best fit and watch-out

Best for

Large enterprises that need bespoke routing, security, and multi-product contracts.

Watch out for

Quotes commonly anchor to committed monthly minimums. Without a procurement team and benchmark quotes from at least two challengers, you have no price floor.
